Progressive is back, and we wanted to celebrate its return with a booking that brings together two of its unsung innovators.

This live show is an homage to the spacious, emotionally charged progressive house of the late 2000s. Adam Marshall’s driving productions are gritty, but always sentimental. Melancholic melodies dance over tactile, analogue textures in the service of atmosphere over spectacle. Active since the late 90s, he’s been quietly shaping a sound for years as label head of New Kanada. Joining him is Ricardo Tobar, a contemporary figure whose take on the genre is inspired by an eclectic palette of Goa trance, shoegaze, jazz-punk, new age, and noise. His debut on James Holden’s prolific Border Community imprint established him as a distinctive voice, finding the unexpected common ground between seemingly disparate musical worlds. The result is warm, mystical, and euphoric - unfolding with a slow-burning intensity.

We sense a mutual inquisitiveness in this pairing, as well as an instinct for depth. The melodies breathe, and the grooves linger. As the day’s glow enters its final hours, drift into more emotional terrain with this debut live set.
