Hailing from Gary, Indiana, Jlin’s sonic universe evokes something between the vibe of a sweaty club and a theatre setting. Her own experimental take on the footwork and juke of Chicago’s twin city is as danceable as it is challenging and complex. A blend of minimalist, classical and jazz music in a frantic 160 BPM framework.
Jlin soundtracks fashion shows and dance performances, and has collaborated with the likes of Björk and Philip Glass. In anticipation of her percussive, infectious and emotional live set, we’re delighted to welcome her to Draaimolen this year. A lover of mathematics and a former worker in a steel factory, she’ll be building a live set in our forest with calculated precision.
