We’re thrilled that you’re interested in joining the Draaimolen Festival 2025 team! Whether you’re here to help with setup and breakdown, assist as bar staff, or manage entrance operations, your contribution is invaluable. This is your chance to gain behind-the-scenes experience, meet amazing people, and be part of something special.
Before applying, please read this agreement carefully to understand the roles, responsibilities, and benefits associated with each position.
House rules
All staff and volunteers must adhere to the festival’s official House rules while on site.

Volunteer & staff roles
1. Production (volunteering)
This role involves assisting with the buildup and breakdown of the festival. Tasks include:
- Site preparation and clearing
- Stage construction
- Tent and infrastructure setup
- Other essential operational duties
Work schedule:
- build-up: August 18th – September 4th (9 AM – 8 PM)
- break-down: September 7th – September 14th (9 AM – 8 PM)
Compensation
Long-term volunteering (full build-up & break-down period)
- Weekend Ticket
- Accommodation if needed
- Daily communal meals
- Becoming part of the Draaimolen family
Short-term volunteering (2 to 10 days)
- 2 days → 1-day ticket
- 4 days → Weekend ticket
- Meals provided, accomodation is volunteer’s responsability
- Engage with the community & gain festival experience
- Extra days won’t earn additional tickets but guarantee more fun!
📌 Minimum of 3 buildup days and 1 breakdown day required for weekend ticket eligibility.
2. Bar staff (paid & volunteering)
Bar staff will help keep the festival energy high by serving drinks at one of our many bars.
Work schedule:
- September 5th – September 6th
- Shifts start between 11 AM and 4 PM and end no later than 2 AM
- Shift length: 10–15 hours
Compensation
Bar volunteering (Friday, September 5th)
- 1 Saturday ticket + 10 tokens + a Draaimolen crew T-shirt
- Lunch provided
- Community experience & behind-the-scenes access
Bar paid shifts (Friday, September 5th and Saturday, September 6th)
- Hourly wage: €14.40
- Lunch provided
- Work with a dynamic and fun team
3. Entrance staff (volunteering)
Entrance staff plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth festival experience. Tasks include:
- Scanning tickets
- Assisting with wristbands
- Regulating crowd flow
Work schedule
- Festival Days: September 4th – September 6th
- Shifts start 8 AM the earlierst and go until 7 PM the latest
Compensation
- Entry to the festival after your shift (the same day of the shift)
- Lunch
- Becoming part of the Draaimolen community
Selection process
Applying does not guarantee placement. We receive many applications, and selection is based on:
- Availability
- Experience & skills
- Alignment with our festival’s values
You will receive an email within 6 weeks if you are selected. Please be patient!
Volunteer responsibilities
Be Professional
- Show up on check-in time in the designated CREW entry
- Stay sober & fit to work throughout the whole shift
- Actively participate and help out each other
Safety First
- Follow all safety protocols
- Respect personal boundaries & social cues
- Insurance: You must have medical insurance & we recommend personal liability insurance
Transport
- Get to Tilburg Central Station
- Use public transport, an OV-bike, or a car
- If driving, a spot in the crew parking is not provided
- No drinking & driving!
Cancellations
- Long-term volunteers: Notify 3 weeks in advance
- Short-term volunteers: Notify 48 hours in advance
